bob vokey wedge

    I have noticed that with the bob vokey wedge that when i need to work the ball spin wise it acts very well not only with backspin but with forward spin, How will the new groove rules change that with up and coming wedges that are soon to come out from titleist and how will i be able to get the same spin as i am now in a couple of years from now with one of the new titleist wedges

    Hi Matthew - 

    Its great to hear that your Vokey wedge works so well for you.  It sounds like you have good control over your wedge play which should serve you well if you need to replace your existing wedges with the conforming groove.  Testing has shown there is a reduction in spin of 30% - 50% with the new groove.  However, the reduction is more noticeable in the rough rather than the short grass.  Actually, Bob was recently asked to discuss the groove changes and what players can expect to see, here is the link to some great answers direct from the source:
