I'm not one to post testimonials but...

I'm a 9 handicap and I've always played the AP1 irons because I thought I needed the extra forgiveness. I was also a little hesitant about spending the extra money on forged irons but towards the end of last year I pulled the trigger and purchased a set of 716 AP2s. My only regret is not purchasing them sooner. In the limited rounds that I have played with them, I can already see an improvement in my ball striking. I love the overall feel of the ball coming off the face plus the workability. They are easily the best set of irons I have ever played. I'm looking forward to getting in a full season in with them to see how much I can improve my game.

Hi Daniel ... I have to agree with you completely. I played a cast set of irons previously, but a few years back, I too decided to say enough and go with a set of the AP2's. I love them ... there is simply something about a well struck ball coming off of the face of that club that is like "music to the ears"! Also, as you have pointed out, I think it brings a sense of extra motivation to improve one's ball striking too!

I had the 714 AP1's and made the switch as well to the 716 AP2's, I do not notice a difference other than with the AP2's you can work the ball and with the AP1's it was very difficult to hit anything other than really straight and long.
You can add in the T-MB 2 and 3 irons and they hit like the AP2's

I have both 716 AP1 and 716 AP2 irons. I agree with you on the 716 AP2 irons a great set, great feel and forgiveness. I like the 716 AP1 irons as well when I am not playing as often and working on the swing. I have been tinkering with shafts recently and have narrowed it down to the XP 105 S300 shafts. I have been fitted indoors/outdoors and at Titleist Demo Days over the years, but recently made the switch from the XP 90 R300 to XP 105 S300 shafts including wedges.

My AP2's are as good as my MB's, in my opinion. Super feel.....Funny part is, On a very windy day last week, I almost missed the grooves on a 4-iron, still hit the front of the green......
