Bought my titleist 716 ap2 irons 6 months ago.....my pw looks like it belongs in a yard sale. Played barely 9 rounds, and probably 5 range sessions.... ? Please advise.

Did you buy them through an authorized Titleist dealer? Maybe they're counterfeit. Doesn't sound kosher to me. I have had my AP2 716s since the week they were released in October of 2015. I have over 200 rounds on them plus many many range sessions. I have very light wear. They are still in fantastic condition. Something doesn't sound right with yours.

I guess the first step is to verify they are authentic. I would contact Titleist Customer Service. If there is a problem and they are genuine AP2s, Titleist will want to know, and likely rectify things.
  3. It sounds like you are hitting lots of balls during your 9 rounds and 5 range sessions! I have had my AP2's for almost 15 months now and they are looking good after hundreds of range sessions and rounds! You may also wish to use iron covers to keep your irons looking better while in the bag... Just a thought...

Think you might want to call customer service. I play golf three to four times a week and my AP2s held up well for the year that I had them.

The Titleist Golf Clubs Warranty and Repairs Department may be reached at 800-742-7609.

Any photos of the pw and rest of set for comparison?

I would say that you need to evaluate your club cleaning procedures. After hitting a shot I clean my club face. This helps reduce the wear on the club face from the ball and dirt particles mashing against your club face during contact with the ball. I am not an iron club cover kind of guy but you could try club covers too. After every round I make sure to clean all my clubs to original state, to again ensure no rust or organic damage from letting dirt/grass linger on the club.
  7. I have had mine for over 14 months now and apart from the 7 iron none of them show any signs of wear and I dont use headcovers.

Seems very strange, maybe take them back to the pro you purchased them from, the balls you are hitting are clean I take it? You clean the clubs after shots?

You're playing a forged club, with softer metal and they're going to scuff on the face. It's a part of normal wear and tear. Sand particles, the occasional little stone, etc., all wear on the face.
  9. If you have pictures it would be great. Or you might want to clean the range balls some more.
