I have a set of what I believe are the 1979 version of the 1979-80 forged blade irons. I wanted a 2 iron to match and complete my set. I found one, but the catch was it came with another full set of these irons...presumably the 1980 version?? When I got them there were a few differences. The script that says "Forged" was different...1st set was normal silver or black and the 2nd set was etched in gold. The numbers on the bottom of the irons had diff paint fill...1st set red fill and 2nd set black paint fill. Also, the 1st sets leading edge was more pronounced digging in more on impact whereas the 2nd, newer set was opposite where the leading edge wouldn't dig as much into the turf with the back edge of the sole hanging a little lower. There's just one pic for these irons on the Titleist page so wondering if anybody knows which year is which?
