First I want to say that I've always struggle hitting hybrids left.

This weekend my club had a demo day and i hit the new hybrids and the T-MBs. I was really impressed with the T-MB and thought about replacing my 913h 3h (19*) and 913 4h (24*) with the T-MB 3i & 4i. Has anyone gone down this road? If so, what were your results.

Another thought was to reshaft the hybrids with KBS Hybrid steel shaft. Anyone go this route? Along with this, does anyone know the headweight of the 3h & 4h?

    Thanks, Bert

I actually just went the other way and replaced my T-MB 4 iron with an 816H2 23 degree.
  3. I kind of went the other way too. Was fitted for AP2's last week. Ended up doing AP1 4iron and H1 3-hybrid. I tried the T-MB's but had better results and more confidence with the AP1 and H1.

I took my 816 hybrid out of my bag in favor of my T-MBs, but they are very different. The T-MB is still an iron, it's just better on mishits perhaps.

The 816 is a huge improvement on the hybrids, so you should really try both and see which one works for your game.
  5. It is all a matter of preferance and to have clubs that cover intermediate yardages evenly through your set that you are confident with. ( that long par 3 ..... what do i have to cover that yardage consistently with minimal dispersion )

For me the TMB wins every time.....

The best and only solution is to go to a Titleist professional fitter and test all - they will see your data and tell you the exact club for your need

I went through the exact same thing, I never could hit a hybrid went to a fitting when the 716 line came out was talked into hybrid's. Never was able to hit them consistantly about 3 months later i bought a 3,4 TMB love absolutely love them and now I have TMB 2-5 iron. It is a personal preference for most people but I will say in my opinion you can not go wrong with the TMB long irons.

I did the something similar, struggled with pulling the hybrids, so I replaced the 2 hybrid with a 5 wood and the 4 hybrid with a TMB 4 iron, loved it so much I replaced my 5 iron with a TMB as well. Really enjoy the top end of my bag now.

Thanks for all the comments. I'm going to try to get with the Titleist fitter at my club to see what would make the most sense for my bag and our courses.

I failed to mention that I hit the H2 at the demo as well. It's a big improvement (IMHO) over the 913 but I still hit a couple of them left of left. Not sure how much of it was me or the shaft. I was, at the demo, getting much better dispersion with the T-MB w/o much distance loss (trackman verified).
  9. I've played titleist hybrids for years and have had the same problem. My natural ball flight is right to left and with the hybrids it is easy to overdo it and hit a hook. I have a tmb 2 iron and don't have this problem with it. The tmb 2 iron is great off the tee and if you have a decent lie, but not so good out of the rough and when you don't have a good lie.

I bit the bullet and ordered a T-MB 3i & 4i. I can't wait! Now what to do with those hybrid head covers ? :)
