i have a 9.5 degree driver, then the next club up is a 21 degree hybrid. i wanted to know , do i really need a club between those like a 3 wood?

It all depends on far you hit the driver in comparison to the hybrid, but that is a rather large gap. Ideally, you should carry a 3 wood or maybe a hybrid with 15 degrees of loft and that should take care of those in between shots.

I think it is very helpful to have a 3 wood in between your driver and your hybrid. I dont hit my 3 wood off the deck a lot but it is nice to have it on a tree lined short par 4 off the tee where I could get in trouble with my driver.

I most certainly do. I have the 909 D3 driver and I just replaced my 3 and 5 woods with the 909 F2'S. I like the advantage it gives me for when I make a short shot off the tee, or to hit some of the longer par 3's. All in all it depends on what kind of yardage gap you have between your driver and your hybrid. Is it significant enought that you are constantly hitting in that range, if so I would suggest going to a golf store and testing some out on the simulators. If you like them, they can be great for your game. -Josh
