  1. Guys,

I am considering a 3 iron to fit into my bag. I currently play apt 716 irons and was considering the t-mb. How forgiving is this? Would an ap2 3 iron be more forgiving?

Hi, I have a t-mb 3 iron. I switched from the 716 CB. It is more forgiving, but that's my feeling. It has a great feel and you get what you pay for. I really like the trajectory of it as well. Hope that helps, the shaft I have it mine is the dynamic gold s300 amt, which is the same as the rest of my irons.

The clubs are pretty similar, but I think the T-MB is a little bit more forgiving compared to the AP2, as it has a little wider sole and a little thicker top line, but not as big as the AP1. When you stand over the ball, it will still give you plenty of confidence to hit a great shot.

If you look at most of the pros bags, many of them carry a T-MB in a long iron, ranging from a 2 to 3 iron, even all the way down to a 5-iron (in a T-MB). But I think that an AP2 iron is just a little bit softer feeling, since it's forged and a T-MB is not. So you have to take that into consideration when getting one because you need it made to your specs (loft and lie), as that would need to be done by Titleist. I'm not sure if a pro shop can adjust either, since it's a cast club.

But overall, once you get dialed in to the correct 3-iron in the T-MB, you'll love it. I actually have it in my 3 and 4-irons.

Let us know what you end up doing.

I switched out a 714 Ap2 4 iron for a 716 TMB 4 iron and it was the best thing I could have done. Such a solid iron.

I wouldn't think the AP2 would be move forgiving.

I'll let you know though. I just ordered T-MB 3i & 4i to replace my hybrids.
  6. I bought a full set of T-MB's and I will probably never buy another set of irons. I am highly impressed with them from 2-PW. I love these things!!!!!!!
