Titleist originally fit me. 1 inch long and 4 degrees up. A PGA pro set me up with the fitting truck guys and they were perfect. These were seven years ago and AP1s. Since then two more sets neither of which came to specs. So, the question is: will Titleist bend the lie on the new AP3s to 4 degrees up without totally messing up the bounce?

Before you simply order a new set with that lie, I really would go through another fitting with a Titleist fitter. From what you said, it has been seven years since you were fit. Is your swing the same? Is your posture? It's also the best way to ensure you get the set you really need, with proper gapping between clubs through the entire set. I went from 2 degrees up to standard lie on my latest Vokey wedges and it definitely changed my game for the better.

4 degrees is a bit outside to the normal adjustment that is made, usually 2 is the limit.

Lie angle doesn't really affect the bounce, changing the loft is what directly affects bounce.

Go get fit with a Titleist fitter!!! It's not only a fun experience, but you know you'll be set up right. You'll be really glad you did. Why risk dropping significant cash on a gamble?
