Combo set - possible to bend loft on AP2/CB

    Hello Team Titleist

    I'm in the market for a combo set AP3/AP2 or AP3/CB.

    Would it be possible to bend the lofts of the AP2's or CB's without messing (noticeably) with the bounce?

    Yes but let titleist do it when you order. As if something is wrong it with it will be under warranty

    Every degree of loft exerts a change of bounce by the same degree.

    Hi, For each degree of loft change, you will move the bounce almost the equivalent amount. If you are looking at AP3/AP2 combination, most players make the changeover at the 5 iron - so AP3 in the 3 and 4 iron and AP2 5-P. You would only have to bend the AP2 5 iron 1 degree strong and it will blend smoothly into the AP3. On the CB's, you will have to make a choice there - the AP3 4 iron is 22° and the CB 5 iron is 27 (as is the AP2), but the CB 6 iron is 31° so there is already a 4° gap in loft. On the AP2 6 iron, it is at 30°.

    I was thinking of making the changeover at the 7 iron, so AP3 4 - 6 iron, and then 7 - pw in AP2 / CB. Will that work, or will I be better of with the T-MB's instead of the AP3?

    If I go AP3 all the way, will I end up with a big gap from the pw to my 50 Vokey?

    Hi, The AP3 6 iron is 28° so there is a 6° gap to the AP2 7 iron and a 7° gap to the CB. You will probably not want to go all the way to a CB if you are making the change between the 6 and 7. With the AP2, you can bend the 7-PW 1° strong and bend the AP3 6 iron 1° weak. The changeover works best if you play the 6-P or the 5-P in the shorter irons and complement them with the 3-4 or the 3-5 in the AP3 or T-MB. If you do want to make the break at the 7 iron, it might work better with the T-MB's as they are one degree weaker than the AP3 irons and you would only have to bend the T-MB 6 iron 1° weak to blend into the AP2 7-PW.
    With the stronger lofts of the AP3 irons, you will probably have to reconfigure your wedge gapping or bend your 50° strong. In general, Bob recommends 4°, with a maximum of 6° gapping in wedges. 4° if you are a more mechanical player and up to 6° if you are a feel player or a skilled wedge player.

    What would be the best way to combine ap1 712, ap1 718 and 718 ap3

    Wanting to upgrade the 712's but love them to death
