917 D3 driver markings

    I need some help, I have a 917 D3 8.5 driver that I got from a good friend. The driver does not have the active recoil marking at the bottom of the face. Is this common that there are clubs without this writing on the face? I bought the club as it had a tour issue shaft and possible that it is a tour issue head. Is there any way I can confirm I have not made a bad purchase!

    If it is a tour issue head it will have a T in the serial number

    Tour issue heads many times have a "T" in the serial number near the front included in the serial number. When you say active recoil marking on the bottom of the face I have not seen this writing before...
