I read someplace that Ben Hogan always said that with golf, “the game is all about feel.” I was thinking today, that sound is actually an important part of that. When I started playing again last year after several years away from the game, the first irons that I bought were “distance machines,” but they had a very brittle feel, and a very high pitched sound at impact.
My 716 AP1 irons impressed me with their solid feel, but also with the sound. I had a similar experience today when I tested a 917 driver.
So - it seems like someone at Acushnet is doing their homework when it comes to acoustics.
Just wondering if anyone else has seen (well, heard) the same thing?
