  1. I am still hitting a 913D3, 9.5, 4g (white) weight with Fujikura Fuel 60 stiff flex shaft and I hit it better than any driver I have ever played. I am thinking of purchasing a new 917D3, but want the specs to be as close to my old set up as possible. Any suggestions?

  2. Take it to a Titleist Thursday and get fit for the new 917!!

The technology is different enough that you want to go to a fitting and not just duplicate the weighting and shaft from a 913. A Premier center or a Titleist Thursday are better starting points to find a combo that meets/exceeds your current setup.

Suggest you do a Titleist Thursday and actually hit that set up a few times and your old one a few times on their TrackMan to make sure you are getting the same result. There might even be some combinations that give you even better results.

The lightest weight you can get with the 917 is 8g, so if you plan to use your current shaft on the 917 you won't be able to match your current specs. Your best option is to work with a fitter to see how close you can get to your current specs and still maintain performance at your desired level.
  6. Thanks for the comments. Need a little help from Team Titleist now since I live in Okinawa, Japan and need to know about the closest facility. My home course is Banyan Tree Golf Club on Kadena AFB.
  7. I would actually wait before you bought a new driver. Just talked to the Titleist rep in my area today and the new driver, the 919 or what ever they decide to name it, is suppose to be in the tour players bag for The National Tournament being played at TPC Potomac at the end of June. It will be ready for demo in August and will hit stores in September/October time frame. Similar release date to the 718 and 818 line last year. He went on to tell me that Justin Thomas and Jordan Speith hit it a few weeks ago for Titleist and wanted to put it in their bags right then, but they wouldn’t let them. Be on the look out because the rep said this driver is going to be a game changer and is completely different and better then any of the 917 drivers.
  8. I need some info on my 915d2 Driver. What are the advantages of changing the bottom back weight in the head ? Right now it has a factory Red wt. But I have purchased a blue one and a green one one up and one down from what exists but what would be the advantage of going either way ????
