    Was playing my new 818H1 yesterday when I noticed what looks like a pucker or small dent of sorts on the crown. I did not notice it earlier in the round. In fact, I had just teed off with it on the previous hole, and it was not there. Then on the next hole I needed it for my approach from the rough. I hit my shot and it felt kind of funny, but I just attributed it to the thick rough. When I went to put the club back in my bag, I noticed this pucker in the crown (shown below). There is no nick in the paint indicating that something banged into it. There is only the depression in the crown with smooth paint. I was devastated when I saw it. I just purchased the hybrid 3 weeks ago and was really loving it. Bought it brand new. I am virtually certain I did not do anything to ding the club. I treat my clubs like my babies. The headcovers (on my Dr, 3W and Hybrid) stay on the club at all times except when I am actually using it. I try my best to never pull or yank clubs in or out of my bag in an aggressive manner. I really have no idea how this could have happened. Having been a Titleist loyalist for at least 10 years, and been a Team Titleist member since the year TT started online, I am hopeful there is something that can be done to fix it. It is such a beautiful club to view at address. This will really bother me to look at now. Even if I send it back to Titleist for repair, assuming it can even be repaired, I don't know how I will live without it during that period. It really pains me to see the way it looks right now, particularly since I have no idea how or when it happened.

    I cracked a face on mine maybe the 4th range ball a few weeks ago.... not sure if it’s a manufacturer defect or what, they replaced it in about a week. Not sure your situation though! You can always hope.

    It's definitely painful. I dented a hybrid at a TT event Pine Needles using it for an alignment stick on the range. Adding the walk of shame made it even worse. It still played well, just no trade-in value. At least it became available as a First Tee donation on the next upgrade.

    Do you have alignment sticks in your back? I put my driver back in once and it landed right on the alignment stick, which poked the slightest dimple in to top of the crown.

    I have alignment sticks, but don't keep them in my bag. They haven't been in for a month. We have them on our range so I rarely need to bring my own. I swear, this dent came from a swing through thick rough, but I can't specify how it actually happened, or why.

    Hi Doug, I spoke with the Warranty department and sent your picture. They will need it to come in for a visual inspection. Without inspecting it physically, they are reluctant to say anything, but if it turns out to be defective, they will replace it as it cannot be repaired. Take it to your shop and have them set up the Warranty inspection. Sometimes, it takes longer for the shops to send it in than it does for the actual reheading so make sure they get it shipped right away. I believe only the head will need to come in, but they will let your shop know.

    Thanks Cathi. I spoke with the shop and told them I will be bringing it in for them to ship back to Titleist early next week. I'll keep my fingers crossed, but understand, there may not be a positive outcome. I appreciate your effort either way.
