Has anyone gone from the 905R to the 909 D2? did you like the upgrade?

My 905R head broke in the semifinals of my club match play against the 19 time champ, still beat him with my MB's!! Then took down the championship hitting hybrid all day.  Amazing how you never get  into trouble hitting safe clubs of the tee.  That's for another forum....

I was just curious if anyone else has upgraded this same way.

    Thanks

I use to have a 905r, i noticed that when i switched to the 909d2 i was getting a higher launch and the hook that i was hitting with the 905r straightened out and actually became more of a fade.

The 909 will be far more forgiving. I found mine was a bit longer than my 905 too.

According to the Titleist club archive,   the 905R has a 35% larger sweet spot.   I use the 905T and like the trajectory control.

    Works for me.

    Deno,

I feel there is a lot more spin with the 905R! I love playing the 909 D3! It is probably more like the 905S but larger sweet spot for mishits. You will not miss the 905R if you switch. the 910 is better than both 909 and 905. I feel because of 16 different set-ups to dail your swing in!

I currently have the 905R. Went to a Titleist fitting yesterday and got matched with the 910D3.

My launch angle went from 9.5 degrees to 11.75 degrees and spin rate went 3600rpm to 2600rpm.Oh, and did I mention I was bombing the D3? (245 carry vs. 275 carry) What a difference.

The main difference was in the shaft in my 905R vs. the recommended one (Diamana 'ahina 72 S).

Needless to say I am sold on the 910D3.

My recommendation... get fitted by a Titleist fitter. They will do you right!

I would have bought the D3 today had my fave golf store had it in stock. I'll order it next week.

    :-)
