Hi was fitted yesterday at belfry for TS3 with Hzrdus smoke. TS range looks good and fitting excellent experience.

However standard shaft length is now 45.5 instead of 45 inches. I wanted 45 inches could somebody from Titleist confirm what weight I should have fitted for standard swing weight. Email says I need + 2 grams is this correct. And what swing weight should it be D5 like 917 or has this changed as well.

Won’t to order up but need correct weight.

thanks waiting for your response Ian

  2. I am super interested in this as well... would be curious if the headweight on the TS3 is the same as 915D3 (my current driver) so that I know which weight to order.

    Help!!

What is the factory swing weight on a TS3 with 60 gram smoke shaft?
  4. I was fitted this week at a Titleist Thursday event and the Titleist fitter had my order adjusted for -0.5 inches to 45 inches. Yet another reason to use the Titleist fitters as they KNOW the equipment.

Hi Ian. I don’t know the answer technically but... I was fitted for a 45 inch driver and I too was configured for +2 grams of swing weight. Also see this titleist swing weight page:
    www.titleist.com/.../surefit

    It says the same.
  6. If the email response is from Titleist I'd assume its correct.

Do you know for sure your 917 is D5?

Also the grip you choose will affect swing weight as well as the shaft weight and balance etc. (If you wanted it to swing weight the same as your 917).

    But I believe .5" equals a 2g change

Hi Yes I know my swing weight as I have a swing weight balance. I know difference in shaft weight a d grip along with how many layers of tape.

Just need Titleist to confirm what swing weight will be. This should not be to hard for them really. I could also weigh both heads as well to get a comparison.

Just want to know what swing weight is

    915 swing weight D4
    917 swing weight D5
    TS swing weight ??

come on Titleist it can't be a secret about swing weight.
  8. 0.5" equals 5g to achieve the same SW. 2g roughly equals one SW point
  9. When you order your new driver just dictate what swingweight you would prefer and titleist will attempt to get as close as possible.

If that's what you were fitted for then I'd listen to them. They actually fitted you with tools and swing analyzers. Doubt someone on here that cannot see you swing can tell you any better.

Titleist fitters are highly trained so I'd just go with what they recommend. It may seem strange at first as you are not used to the new product but eventually you will see the benefit.

The standard swing weight with the new drivers are D5 which is extremely high I think, I like my swing weight for a driver at D3. The stock weight on the TS2 is the black weight but if you want more weight or less Titleist can do that, they can build it to a specific swing weight if that what you would like too.
  12. Where can you buy additional weights or a kit for the TS woods?

I'm under the impression that different weights aren't available yet

For every half inch you remove from a golf club it will drop the swingweight by 3. 2 grams of weight added to the head will increase your swingweight by 1.

  18. Gary,
I believe that chart you posted assumes you cut the shaft from the tip, correct?

Here's my dilemma - I was fitted by Tru Spec. They cut all their aftermarket shafts to have a 45" length. The data said for me to get a TS2 9.5* head with a Fujikura Atmos Black Tour Spec shaft, Stiff.

I wanted the club fast as I was headed to a golf trip with the boys and Tru Spec couldn't get it to me in time so I purchased a TS2 with a Smoke shaft and then got the Fujikura Atmos shaft separately.

When I weight the club with the Smoke shaft, it's swing weight is right about a D2. With the Atmos shaft, it's swing weight is a D5.

I prefer to play a 45" shaft but don't want to cut from the tip. I also prefer the D2 swing weight. So I need a lighter weight in the head, or need to add weight to the butt end. Any suggestions on which is preferable?
