Last fall I started playing golf again after 19 years of not swinging a club. I was pretty good at golf and had some success in high school golf. When I moved across the country in the middle of high school I stopped playing because there wasn’t a course around that wasn’t extremely expensive. My parents would have paid for it, but I couldn’t let them struggle financially off my own interests.

Fast forward to last fall and my father in law showed me his old clubs. I said I wonder if I can still swing a club well. I struck my first ball and it felt like the feeling never left me. I was in love again with the sport.

Last month I got ahold of a titleist club fitter and he matched me up with everything that I needed. It was crazy to see the ball launch in a perfect manner. Honestly, the clubs make me look better than I am! Anyways, yesterday my clubs arrived and I couldn’t be happier. I want to thank this community for the advice I’ve seen on the boards and really piqued my interest in getting fitted!

My clubs are: AP3 5-W48 Vokey SM7 52F and 58S grind TS3 driver and 3 wood TS2 5 wood And last but not least... the Scotty Cameron Newport Select 2

    Thanks for reading my post!

Welcome back! And congrats on a great set of clubs to help you get re-started, I might add. That's quite an investment right off the bat. I guess you really are in love again. Nice bag, too, by the way.

Thanks so much. It was a big investment for sure, but I think they’re certainly worth a buy once cry once type of purchase! I’ve had several compliments on how well the ball has been controlled on the greens. I never changed anything in the swing, and I think these clubs make me look better than I am!

I think you may be able to purchase different shafts, they’d just more than likely be at a premium.

Not true. They can be special ordered with whatever shaft you get fitted for. Regular, stiff, steel, graphite .... whatever best suits your swing.
  10. Titleist offers many "stock" shafts when you order clubs. My AP3s were fitted with what could be considered a regular flex shaft at no extra cost. It was the same shaft I was using in my 714 AP1s, and still worked best for me.

Great looking set of clubs. I hope you play well with them. It is almost the same setup I am playing. You can not go wrong with a set of Titleist.
