  1. Hello all,

Firstly, Happy New Year ! I recently bought second-handed PW-5 irons (MB 712) at Transview Golf (Far East shop) in Singapore, and realised that none of the clubs (6-iron included) had a serial number on the hosel. To note that the shop (TRansview Golf) appears in Titleist website (Find a Store) in Singapore.

In addition, the “712” mark is not perfectly the same on all clubs (is it the norm for forged irons?)

I understand that Titleist series shows serial on the 6i hosel, for customised serial is on every irons, and tour issued, no serial at all: 1. am I right? 2. how do I check/know these are tour issued.

When I bought them, I asked about this, he said "yes, no fake, real club" (although I tend to be careful in the region, always says yes for anything). Finally, the numbering are in Orange (maybe the previous owner personal taste to paint it in orange). Although I asked the sale guy who told me that the clubs are manufactured in Japan, hence the orange colour...

Is there a risk that I bought some fake clubs?

thanks a lot for your help, as I am getting nervous.

    Best, Jerome

  2. Just to add-on to the above. I went back to the Transview Golf (very nice staffs by the way).
Apparently, the Japanese manufactured irons do not etch the serial number on the hosel, but on the shaft (with a "genuine product identification label" delivered by a Japanese golf association).

Now the thing is, I have a serial number + label on the shaft of 2 clubs only (PW and 7i), but the serial numbers are different (also the label is slightly different from the one shown on the Titleist jp website):

    - PW is S205**** (look std); and
    - 7i is M11*** (quite odd).

I get that Transview is getting their stock from their Japanese store/supplier (which I understand is a Titleist authorised retailer - that I need to check).

I am very confused, any help would be greatly appreciated !

    J
