I was fitted for wedges yesterday and I really liked the new TVD vokey 58.  The 54, however, felt a little heavier than my standard vokey 54.  Is that the case?  I want to decide on ordering one or a pair.

I have a swingweight scale at home and I'll check the stock 58 vs 54 tonight.

    Thanks,

    Jerry

The 54, 56, 58, 60, 62 and 64° should weigh in at D5 +/-1.  The differences would be in length or grip.  If you find that you want a specific swingweight to match a wedge that you have currently, specify the swingweight when you place your order for the new wedge.

    Cathy,

Thanks.  that should help me.  I assume that also means the the TVD wedges are the same weight as the standard BV wedges.

Now since you mentioned that I can ask for a specific swingweight and length, let me ask you about my 10 yr old son.  He needs a club that is about B0 swing weight and 32.5" long and a graphite shaft.  I modified the wedges he is currently using myself (Vokey spin milled 54-10 and 58-12).  I took a lot of weight off of the sole (drilling/milling, no grinding) and reshafted it.  Of course I ruined a lot of the good work Bob did designing the club and eliminated some of the sole weighting, but golf is all about confidence and these are the only Titleist clubs in his bag (except for the cameron putter) and he loves them.   He hits them great.

Now he is complaining (rightly so) that he has worn out the grooves and wants a new pair. He'll probably inherit my 909D3 driver (if I can get the swingweight right, the head is a bit heavier than the driver he is currently swinging).  So if I could order a couple of wedges from Wedgeworks to these superlight specs, it would be a done deal.  Ho. HO. HO!!! Merry Christmas.

    Thanks,

    Jerry

How many names can you misspell in a thread?  First Vokey and now Cathi.  Sorry about that.  --Jerri :-)

We can build a standard or a CC (conforming) wedge at 1" short of ladies length (with a ladies T55 graphite shaft or a steel 970 ladies) which is 1" short of men's length so a 54° wedge would be 33 1/4" and the 58° would be at 33".  The swingweight would be about B0 with the graphite shaft and about B3 with the steel. That is the shortest length that we can build a wedge.  The good news is that yes, you can order a TVD wedge like that from Wedgeworks.  In the notes, you will have to specify shaft, and length.  Give us a call if you have questions on how to order it. 1-888-TITLEIST.

Cathi, That sounds great.  I think I just got a lot of Christmas shopping done.  I'll just have to spend some time working on the personalization before I place the order.  I may have to shorten the shaft a little myself or maybe he'll grow a little.  He's eating and sleeping a lot like maybe he's in a growth spurt now.  he is only 55" tall now.  I actually have the Aldila VS Proto Graphite T-55 shaft in his wedges now.  Thanks a million, Jerry

PS  This morning he hit me with "ok, now that you're getting the 910 D3 you'll be reshafting the 909 for me, right?"  I thought he might wait until it showed up.
