    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could comment on my 909D3 performance:

I picked up a 909D3, 9.5 with stock Titleist Voodoo stiff a couple weeks ago to replace my reliable but old 975J, 8.5 Fujikura Vista Pro 60 stiff.  Even though I love my 975, I felt it was time to set it aside and experience the newer technology!  My goal with the 909 was to pick up extra yardage and reduce ball flight slightly.  I carry the 975 about 250yd with some good roll, but do hit a high trajectory.

As with my prior Titleist drivers, the 909 is a great looking driver at address.  No other club manufacturer does it better!  After a two hr range session with the 909D3 I found I was carrying 15-20 yd less, dispersion much greater, always fading/tailing, very little roll.  Just wondering if this Voodoo shaft is not the proper shaft.  I wasn't fitted but rather relied on shaft specs.  With the 909 I do have lower ball flight.

    Greatly appreciate any feedback.

    Thanks!
    Dominic

    Dominick,

It sounds like the shaft is not the correct shaft for you. The Fujikura shaft you replaced has different playing characteristics than the Voodoo.

I suggest you go get fitted at an authorized Titleist fitter to find the best shaft for you. Going on the printed spec alone is not enough.

    Good luck.
