I bought a used set of forged 695 cb's last summer & I absolutely LOVE 'em!! One question though, I have seen 2 distinct lofts for the 9 iron, both on titleist club archive pages, however, when I access the page directly on Titleist website, I get 40 degrees, on a redirect from About.com, it reads 42 degrees, which puts it evenly btwn. my 8 iron & p.w. Now, I've hit this iron on a particular par 3 @ 140 yards, & while it's a beautiful shot w/ a great trajectory, I flew the green!, which I wasn't too unhappy about (lol), yet was totally unexpected. My 5 hc playing partner informed me: "You hit it perfect, that's all", but I'm not buying that. It's happened on more than 1 occassion, hence my belief that it IS 40 deg., which is ok, I'd just like to know. I always took an 8 iron w/ my old set of T.M. RAC's on that hole & yes, I know, " hit your pitching wedge" is the feedback I'm mostly getting. The guy I bought 'em from didn't have 'em bent, so I ask, whats the true loft of this club leaving the factory in 2006?

     Hi Patrick,

I would recommend you take them to your local pro and have all of your lofts checked.  I bought a set of 690CB's about 5 years ago and my local pro checked them before I played with them and not all the lofts were correct.  This would verify not only your 9 iron but all of your clubs since you bought them used.  That way you can step up confidently and not have that nagging idea in the back of your head that your lofts are wrong.  I think that is the only way you will know what the true loft leaving the factory in 2006.
