  1. Hi, I currently use a x-series 58 degree (10 degree bounce) for my bunker play & lob shots. I'm in the process of changing to MB irons, vokey wedges & wondered if anyone had any views on which vokey to replace this with? I'm torn between 58/8, 58/12, 60/10.

As my current PW is 45 degrees  I go 50,54 & 58 at the moment, but my new MB wedge is 47 degrees so I was thinking of going 52/8,56/8,60/10?!

Another way could be to play 52/8,56/11(as bunker club)60/7 as lobber....Any ideas???:)

    Cheers....Graham

I play a 53, 56 (medium bounce) and 60 (low bounce) with a PW of 49 (Titleist 990's are pretty weak lofted), so if you want to play 4 wedges as you seem to I'd probably go 52/8, 56/11 and 60/7 mainly because you can use both 56 and 60 as bunker clubs even with the low bounce in the lob wedge. Or you could go get some nice TVD wedgeworks if you fancy splashing out!

If you are getting fitted, which I would suggest as does pretty much everyone I ask, maybe see what gap and SW give you the best distances so you don't have any big gaps. I don't think that anything above 56 will be a problem as a go to SW for bunker play, you could probably get away with the setup you already have if the yardage overlap isn't too bad between PW and 50 GW.

Hope that gives you some more idea,

    Dan

    Graham,

I use the same wedge setup you currently have.  I believe my CB695 PW is 46 degrees and I use the vokey 50, 54, and 58.  I have the 58 12 and it works well for me.  Another option would be the 58 M TVD from wedgeworks which I have hit and loved.  I bought one for my son and he does magic with it.

I would consider keeping my current wedges and bending the new clubs to match my old lofts.  I tried the AP2s and didn't get used to the different lofts very well.  I took them out of my bag to have them bent and my son coveted them away from me.  Anyway, think about the work you'll have to do to get used to the distances you hit the new lofted clubs.  Maybe you adjust quickly or maybe you should stick with what works for you now.  Just a suggestion.

I would probably keep your lofts the same, wedge-wise, and experiment with the middle ground of the 58.08.  It's been a popular wedge at our Studio.
