I'm a big fan of TSI & TSR driver heads so I bought a few more heads for backup (Some new, some used)
So all TSR/TSI models have a rough textured finish in the middle part of the driver faces.
However, one thing I noticed was that for some of the older/used heads,
this texture finish is noticeably 'less rough' in feel.
My guess is that the textured finish wears out from extended ball striking.
My question here is then how does it really affect the shots? distance / flight / spin...
Simply thinking more texture = more likely to spin, but I could be wrong....
Hope someone from Titleist can add some clear comments and answers to this.
