I play the Titleist ZB model of irons and love the way the set transitions from blade to cavity back.  Getting that itch for new clubs as some of the grooves are not as sharp as I would like.  I wish there was another set like this in the Titleist line still.

Does anyone play the CB model who previously played one of the blended sets Titleist has made over the years?  If so, how do the mid and short irons compare to the half and full blades in the older models?  Torn between these and the AP2's.

Also, can't help but notice how others have copied the "blended set" idea this year and seems to be taking credit for a "new innovation" that Titleist created years ago.  Shameless.

    Zach,

If you love your ZB set of irons, I would consider going with a blended set of MB/CB's.  I played the 735 CM's (blended set) for over 5 years and loved them but wanted new sticks so I went with a set of 3-6 CB's & 7-PW MB's.  Like you, I like the workability and trajectory control with the blade short irons and the forgiveness and higher launch of the mid/long irons.  A lot of the Titleist staffers on the PGA tour are going with a modified blended set of CB/MB's as well.  Best of Luck!

I know where you can get a brand new set - in a golf shop - still in the plastic.  I just saw them last Sunday.

Thanks for the info but mine were built for me.  S400 shafts and 2* upright.  To have them reshafted and bent would add a few hundred more to the cost.  I like the ideas of mixing the MB and CB sets...never thought of doing that.
