Standard vs. stiff flex

  1. Hey everyone! I purchased a beginner golf set from top flight and after 2 months of using them snapped my 3 wood shaft. I believe my swing speed and style has a lot to do with it. My club was a regular stiffness, 10.5 loft, regular length, etc. Since it seems I have a strong and high speed swing, I’ve went ahead and bought the cally rogue ST LD with a stiff Mitsubishi white shaft. I did my research and feel like this club will fit me very well! I’m ver excited to get back out there and try it out! Any opinions on my choice or tips for the future?

I dont think you’re going in the right direction with that club. At the top left of your screen there, look for the ‘Fitting’ menu and find your local Titleist fitter to set yourself up with the best equipment money can buy! These fitting experts can craft the right combination of club and shaft to get the most efficient use of your swing to get the customized results you want.

Good luck with the new club!

I would highly suggest being fit for all clubs in the future by a certified club fitter. Each time I am fit for something, I am amazed at what I was thinking driving to the fitting and how much it differed from what I left with at the recommendation of the fitting professional (I always use a Titleist fitter). Shaft choice is so critical with the weight, color, length... correct set up can do so much to affect distance, trajectory and other very important measurables. The game is hard enough, as we all know... having the right set up and a few lessons by a PGA certified professional gives you a great chance to have fun and hit some memorable shots while getting better. Good luck Davis!

For your best or optimal results you should be properly fitted for your golf equipment, no matter your experience or golf handicap.
