Will Titleist ever make a narrow soled CB iron again? One of the best CB irons IMO was the original 690CB which had a fairly narrow sole, since it's replacement the 690.CB (dot) the sole of the CB players irons have been a little more on the wider side. Would love to see a narrow soled CB in the line up next year.

I understand your frustration. Playing wide soles, especially on Bermuda, is tough. The wider soles tend to bounce off the turf root system more than narrow soles and lead to some beautiful line drives. I don't know if it's possible to order sets from Titleist with the soles ground, but it would have to be done before chroming. Another choice is to search for tour issue irons which in most cases will have narrower soles ground to the player's choice. Question the seller about the width with a location measurement. It may only take 1/16" or less. Find out from Titleist the difference between the 690's and current clubs and a reference point. You might be able to special order a set with the 690 width. I have a set of 690 mb's I'm working on now to try to put in play. They gotta be real soft because a bunch of grooves are gone or almost gone. I've done enough clubwork to know how to regroove them, but the groove wear also indicates face wear. I'm going to post a question to them about groove depth to try to calculate how much face is missing.

    Good Luck!

I doubt it, instruction has gone to a flatter swing and a wider(less bounce) sole fits the modern swing better.

Plus forgiveness is a big factor in design of cb's, lowering and moving the cg back from the face is the biggest factor for forgiveness. How do you lower and move the cg back? you make the sole bigger.

I would like to see the sole grind of the 962 come back. It looks bigger and moves the cg, allows you to open the face and actually offers a little more protection when opening the face, but still plays like a narrow sole.

I'm looking to upgrade to 962b, with the same sole grind and a little less offset. True the feel isn't like forged, but adding sensicore really upgrades the feel(still not like forged), and cast seems to last forever.
