  1. Hey,

about a year and a half ago I purchased some t200 irons for around £1.2k, last week I noticed mid round that the backing plate on my 7 iron had fallen off. I've not been able to locate the backing plate so my 7 iron is left looking a state.

First of all I think it's crazy that irons are falling apart after 1.5 years, especially at the price tag Titleist put on their clubs. Second, one quick google and it appear this backing plate has been problematic for Titleist for the t200 and t350 models.

I've tried contacting support a couple of times and I've heard nothing back, this is very disappointing because you're unable to buy a replacement backing plate anywhere.

Really my options are, buy a whole replacement 7 iron and pray none of the other backing plates fall off and get lost, or buy new irons and get a low trade in on mine.

As a long term Titleist customer, I'm very disappointed.

  2. I have the 2019 version of the T 200. Been an issue on those from the beginning but if you notice over time the newer models have been cleaned up to eliminate that.

Sorry to hear about your issue and that your first post on this forum has to be a complaint. The issue was not on T350 but on prior generation T200 and T300. It definitely was not wide spread based on how many hundreds of thousands of irons were produced and in play. Yes, some epoxy has given way to some backplates and when those clubs were still in production, Titleist did some replacements or players just added more epoxy and fixed their own. With those heads long past production, replacement is limited to finding a second-hand club or just playing without the cosmetic back plate. Double check the inside of your golf bag in case it fell down in there. Also, tap the back of your other irons to see if they all feel solid or if the epoxy is loose on any others. Current T series have gone away from the backplates which looks great and will ensure long life with limited chance of defects.

Yes it's unfortunate, and Titleist finally did away with the stick-on back plates. I still have the combo T200/T350 from a couple years ago, and have had to re-install 3 of the back plates. I started checking them after each round so I was able to fix it before they completely popped off. Pretty easy fix. a little clean up and a little club epoxy. Once I reinstalled, they never came loose again. Maybe you can find a beat up 7 iron cheap and carefully pop off the back plate.

Hey Pal. We here in the United States are long time Titleist customers as well. Based on the exchange rate I am assuming that you are in Europe. Did you try to contact customer service in Europe? Here is the warranty information for European clubs with instructions on how to handle any issues. If you go to the bottom of this site where it says United States and scroll til you find the country you live in you can find customer service that serves your area. You can either email them or call them. I have the 2023 T350s and play three days a week and have had no issues with my irons. I do ride a cart due to medical issues. So they do bang a bit and have held up well. Anticipate purchasing a new set when they come out next year. After two (2023/2025) cycles they are showing some wear in the middle of the grooves. One of the best Titleist control irons I have ever played. Wishing you the best.
