OK so there was a Titleist demo day at local golf shop and went out to hit some of the clubs they have.  I own 710 CBs and I just tried the MBs.  I was hitting it more solid for some reason than the CBs... I mean CBs should be easier to hit but for some reason, it felt a bit more purer than the CBs.  I also felt the head being a bit heavier...

I was fitted for the CBs, with 1/4 longer shafts.  I was wondering if that had changed the swing weight somewhat and I now feel the MBs with regular length has a bit more mass towards the head?  Any thoughts??

Maybe this could be a chance to own a true blades ;) lol

If you take a look on this site about the 2 clubs you'll see there isn't a lot of difference.

The cb has a little lower cg but it is also a little closer to the face, closer to the face means its easier to work the ball accurately.

The cb has .005" more offset

Now take a look at the cavity, do you really think it provides a bunch of forgiveness?

Possibly the slightly higher cg fits your swing better.

Actually the CB's at 1/4 inch long will have a heavier swingweight than the MB's you hit at standard length.  Adding shaft length will increase swingweight.  Also if you compared CB's and MB's with identical shafts with same lengths, the swingweights should be similar.

Headweights determine the swingweight.    That is based also on shaft weight which is included in swingweight.    The lighter the shaft,  like a 65 gram Graphite will need a much heavier head than a head on a 125 gram shaft.     However the overall weight of the club has to be taken into consideration also.     I can swingweight  a telephone pole to a B-1 with a lot of counterbalance, but it will still weight a couple of thousand lbs.    On the other hand I can swingweight a Golf shaft to a g, or h, buy adding weight to the tip.

Chances are that the different feel is overall weight.and shaft weights.

As far as 1/4 inch goes,  1 inch equals 6 points, so 1/4 in is insignificant and  you most likely will not be able to feel it.

On another line I just went back to MBs after the CBs for last 15 yrs and hitting it much better than I have in years.
