  1. Hello,

I just started playing seriously again after about 9 years away from the game (played about 15 rounds total in that time).  I'm a former competitive amateur (hs and junior college) and probably play to a 5 handicap right now but I hope to get back into competitive form in the next month or two.

My old 200 series vokeys (48,54,60) are pretty worn out especially the 60* which has a very worn out face with a rust area in the sweet spot and it gets virtually no spin at all out of the rough anymore.  I believe my 60 is from 1999 or 2000 perhaps and the others are probably 2002 if I had to guess.

Are the 200 series offered by wedge works roughly the same as my current wedges as far as head shape and offset etc...or are they a later model that is different from these?  I'm not sure whether to go with the stock spin milled C-C or get the 200 series at this point sight unseen.  the new ones (spin milled) seem slightly different but i'm sure i'd get used to them quickly.  I really like these wedges but need help deciding which way to go here.

Here is my 60*, there is lead tape obscuring the bounce amount and i'd rather not take off the tape at this point to check.

  2. Hi Ben -

They're the same castings as the originals, so they'll be the same shape, size, weight, etc. Only thing different will be the finish (Bright Brushed Chrome) and the grooves (C-C).

    Hope this helps...

  3. nick,

thanks for the response.   Mine are chrome (tried to post pics but it didn't work for some reason.  So they would be identical?  or are the 200 series not as chrome as mine?

I got the 200 46 and it is great, good bye PW.  Worth every penny....

  5. Yeah, I ditched the stock PW years ago for a vokey.  I think its a lot more versatile and can be used on long bunker shots and low pitches better along with being able to control in-between distances on fuller swings more easily.  I am glad that they changed the grooves slightly on the PW loft models as they spin if anything too much for me.

thanks nick for the clarification, i'm kinda out of the loop here and didn't know if my 10+ year old 200 series were different than say a 8 or 5 year old version.

  6. The Bright Brushed Chrome is a new finish.  It will not be as shiny (reflective) as your current 200 series in chrome.
