Hi, I have a quick question about changing the lie angle of 910 driver and how it affects the ball flight. It is my understanding (at least with irons) that lie angle changes the direction of the ballflight to either push or pull when it is too flat or upright, respectively. I could be wrong... So does changing the lie angle of the 910 driver cause you to have change in direction of the ballflight (push or pull) or have change in curvature of the ball flight (fade or draw by changing the spin rate). Thank you.

While the direction may be more significant with irons, you are right on the money!

I would say that is true if  the change in the lie angle didn't change your setup or swing.

With irons I can change the lie angle, and in order for me to put the club flat on the ground my setup and consequently my swing changes.

So...the lie angle affects the starting direction of the ball launch right? Not the side spin to cause draw or fade as indicated by the matrix?

If the club at impact is tilted toe down then the ball will curve right, if at impact the club is tilted toe up the ball will curve left. That is because the backspin put on the ball is angled exactly the same as the tilt of the club.

If the ball is pushed or pulled that is because that is the direction you are swinging, if the ball goes straight then that is also the direction the face is pointing.

If the ball is curving, one of the possibilities is lie angle, not likely.

The lie angle of a driver has very little effect of the ball curving, if you are curving alot then it is because you have the clubface open or closed.
