I recently came across a Scotty Cameron Staff bag (aka tour bag). I really like the design, colorway, and bag itself. Just don't know if it's worth lugging around the course. 90% of the time I'm riding in a cart so the weight isn't an issue. I just don't want to come off as "try-hard" by flashing a huge tour bag. Thoughts? I know, I know....play what you like because YOU like it and don't worry what others thing. But c'mon, what would you do? Be frank.

I’ve been on both sides of this. I originally bought a tour bag because a buddy had one and talked me into it. Loved the look, but once I had to fly to Vegas to visit him, reality hit — it was heavy and a pain to travel with. I sold it and moved to a premium stand bag that actually fits how I play.

That experience changed my mindset. No one should be a gear snob. Use what works for you. Most of us aren’t playing for a living — we’re out there to have fun with friends and enjoy the game.

Bags and headcovers are really one of the only ways to show personality in golf anyway. If a tour bag fits your setup, run it. If not, don’t force it. Be you — that’s never try-hard.
