Just seen the Players S4/S5 and S4 Stadry on some IG reels from the pga show.

Any info on release dates? Very interested in the S4 stadry, especially as it looks like the leg issues could be fixed now!

Interestingly no S5 StayDry, or maybe it comes later….but looks like the S4 has grown a little in weight, so maybe that just stays as the one?

Even with a change in the retractable leg design, it is important for people to keep their bags stored upright when not in play. Extended periods with the legs retracted puts strain on the mechanism which leads to metal fatigue.
  3. Saw this one social and would love to know when it’s being
Released. Titleist couldn’t answer any questions about it I already emailed.

Judging by the way the legs were all over the place, I assume it’s an old model with branding etc removed

That’s a Links Legend version shown at the PGA Show. We will just have to wait and see if that color scheme comes across the website as direct purchase or if it is only available through pro shops.

Excited for new release but if not mentioned already these improvements come at a weight increase of about 1lb. The stadry previous gen was a true stand out, especially if you had a single strap. It was full featured bag that weighed less than everyone else pretty much. Now I would have to surmise these will fall more in line with dimensions and weight of a png hoofer lite, which is to say 5lbs and not all that lite. The stadry fabric and Titleist pockets are perfect for what I need, the added weight is just kinda a bummer as I walk majority of rounds by far and try to be kind to caddies.

I do agree. The weight increase of 500g or so is a bit of a pain.
I’m going to pick one up though, whenever they get released over here. Hoping the new strap system will help mask some of the extra weight

Does Titleist manufacture their bags in house? Somewhere I heard they were produced by Sun Mountain and considering a move to Vessel. Any factual insight would be appreciated.

I think they used to be Sun Mountain until 7/8 years ago, maybe more.

I assume it was all brought in house. Going to Vessel would be a hell of a choice - except a lot of the Vessel carry bags can be very heavy

Correct, Titleist has been producing their own bags for quite a while now. They are produced in Vietnam with the exception being all the separate equipment that is unique to Japan.

See the bags had hit some stores in the past day or so.

Bit the bullet and have ordered an S4 Stadry in black/black/graphite.

Hoping the extra weight isn’t a pain, and the straps and new leg system more than make up for it.

Also has potential to work well on a trolley if needed, so might the be bag to end all bags

Bag arrived today. Leg system seems a ton better, and the masses of padding on the strap is a much appreciated.

Club tangle doesn’t seem as prevalent, and I use midsize grips too.

Roll on the weekend (and weather cooperating) to see what it’s like on the course

Looks real good, would you mind add a few pics? Is the ball/rangefinder pocket with magnet? And does the weight-add seem like a dealbreaker? Considering changing from a old players 4 stadry.

No magnet in the rangefinder pocket. It’s a full zip with a little grab handle.

Weight doesn’t feel like a deal breaker, but my first round with it won’t be until Saturday
  15. Would it be possible to get some more pics? How is the weight?

I’m 4 rounds in now, and the weight hasn’t been an issue at all. The new straps must be doing wonderful work.

I’ll try and get a few more pictures, if you still want some

I was able to check out the new Player S5 yesterday at PGA SS. I put a full set of clubs in it and didn't have the crowded feel of the previous version due to the wider bottom. the leg mechanism seemed stronger and more solid as well. more pockets, both internal and external will allow for more storage. The difference in weight wasn't that noticeable, but I don't carry so that's a non issue for me. Overall, it's a go for me. Now I need to decide between the S4 or S5

If weight isn’t an issue as you don’t carry, I’d go S5 without a doubt.

I do miss a magnetic range finder pocket on the S4, but have just taken to attaching the rangefinder case to the bag and using the zip pocket for tees etc.

New Players S4 just arrived. Went with the black/white logos version. Love the new leg system and shoulder straps. Looking forward to putting it in play soon.
