I had been so close to a hole in one for many years (hitting flag multiple times and even pitching on the edge of the hole) and eventually got one but it wasn’t what I was expecting... 178 yard slightly downhill par 3 and I hit a 6 iron, instantly let one hand off the club as I came through because I thinned it but my disgust at the shot turned into joy when I saw it roll up and plop straight in the hole! Golf is a weird game!
