  1. I’ve been a golfer my whole life, however I’ve had to learn to play in a very different way since the year 2005. I’m currently 34 years old and when I was 19 I was involved in a really bad car accident which resulted in me losing the use of my left arm from the bicep down. I was devastated at the time and thought I’d never play golf again. A year or so after the accident I was watching the show Big Break on the Golf Channel. On that particular season one of the featured players in the show was Chad Pfeifer who did very well. Chad was a highly skilled player who played with a prosthetic leg. Through watching him and the show it gave me the motivation to go out in the backyard and to just try hitting a wedge around the yard swinging with only one arm. I was surprised how well I could still swing. Shortly after that I was back on the course and playing in leagues working hard to improve my game golfing One-Armed. A few years back I started to take things a little more serious and I now play in national tournaments for people with disabilities, including ones where I am now competing against Chad who inspired me to play again in the first place. The best part of my hole in one story is that it happened in an outing I was playing in and the outing supported The National One-Armed Golfers Championship. It was my first Hole in One playing either one-armed or with two and is a memory I’ll be able to cherish for the rest of my life for so many reasons that don’t even have to do with golf. 8 Iron playing at 142 yards.
