Number 10 at Saint Mark's Executive, in San Marcos Ca. not far from Titleist Carlsbad. We'd just made the turn to the back 9. I'm feeling good as I've been hitting my usual Pro-V1 well all day. Feeling flush, I'm hitting a brand new ball today. At the tee on 10, I feel the wind is a bit stiff so I club up from a pitching wedge to my 9, thinking I need a bit more carry for the 111 yards facing me. Pin is back right adding a few more yards. 4 guys on the green had just cleared and they are painfully slow. Our foursome's pace of play was good as was the 4 guys behind us who have caught up to us. So there are 8 of on tee waiting and chatting up the weather and the pace. I set up to hit first. I hit a sweet cut, high into the wind and it lands softly on the unusually fast and hard greens. I land it some 12 feet from the pin and get some roll out given the hard and fast conditions. That roll out is odd I think to myself as I normally get a hit and stick it with my Pro-V1 as the front side had been playing soft. Given the perfect line of sight to the hole and for the 4 guys who have just cleared as well as the other 7 of us on the tee, I've got a 12 guys watching a Feherty "Home Sick Gofer" shot, my ball heads into the bottom of the cup. My first ace, Thank you Titleist, a Pro-V1 player for life. Here's the card and ball
