Yesterday, in the middle of what was otherwise a forgettable round at my local course, Guilford Lakes, I stepped to 7th tee with an 8 iron and sent my Tour Soft in the direction of the hole 144 yards away. Well struck and on line, the ball rose against the afternoon sun, disappearing briefly, only to reappear as it gently landed on the green. With two soft bounces and subsequent roll the ball found its' home inside the cup atop the Covid compliant foam insert with a subtle tap against pin. The cheers from a group in a neighboring green side tee box confirmed the ace for our distant view. While I'll not likely frame the card from yesterday's round I will try remember the magical moment when it all aligns and things go wonderfully well, especially when they're not.
