My Hole in one was on March 14, 2020 at Taberna Country Club in New Bern, NC. My wife and I joined the club the day prior. I played in the season opening event the next day which was a four person scramble - “The Chili Bowl”. The weather was perfect but our team was having a hard time making birdies. After eight straight pars we came to hole 17. It was playing 129 yards with a little hurting wind. I had a PW and nine iron on the tee box. My teammates told me long would be in the bunker or the lake. I dropped the nine iron and said a few yards short would be fine. I hit the purest PW I have ever struck and it was covering the pin. My Pro V1x hit two feet behind the hole and spun back into the hole. I dropped the club, through my hands up, and started high fives (not so smart given the covid-19 virus). Walking back to the cart I said hey, “We still don’t have a birdie!” It was my first hole in one and first day at the new club. What a great day! So excited.
