Our senior golf group in Mooresville, NC tee'd off on a great January morning for NC on 1/15/2020. It was a typical shotgun start. I had a bad cold and hadn't played for a couple of weeks. My foursome was a great group. We started on hole 17 which is one of the hardest/longest holes on the course. After paring that hole I felt I might have a good day even though my partner would not ride with me due to my cold. The Mooresville Golf Club is a great golf club and course but was extremely wet due to several days and weeks of rain so I thought it might be a tough day. We score/play our senior golf group scores under the Stratford point system. I had only 3 pts after 4 holes so when I tee'd up after making the turn to the front to hole #3 I decided I needed to get close for a possible birdie to improve my score. My tee shot landed just right and short of the hole where the closest to the hole marker was. My ball landed on the slight rise above the hole and rolled down towards the pin. The player next to me said he thought it went in. Sure enough it was at the bottom of the cup. So I received 10 pts for a hole in one. The next par 3 on #7 I was also closest to the pin and birdied that hole too. I finished my round with 33 pts and we one as a team. As a Mooresville Golf Club member I will be named on the club plack for a hole in one on 1/15/2020. FYI - My father who is 94 has had 5 holes in one. My brother who has lettered in golf in HS and College has yet to get a hole in one. Finally at the age of 67 I have gotten my first hole in one. I am feeling better with my cold now.
