Having played the game for 45 years, it had become a running joke that I had not had a hole in one yet. On Monday, May 3rd of 2021, that all changed. The hole in one came on the 16th hole at Medford Village CC in Medford, NJ. The hole was playing 189 yards. I hit a high cut 4iron that landed about 8 feet from the cup, gently spun to the right and grabbed and disappeared. From the tee we couldn't tell if it wen in, or was hiding behind the pin. When we got to the hole, the ball was in the cup. My play number is the year I was born as shown in the attached photo.
What made the event even more special was the fact that May 3 is my mother's birthday. We lost mom last summer but knew immediately that she was with me yesterday. Ironically, my father only had one hole in one in his lifetime that happen on my birthday in 1998.
