I’ve been playing golf for 24 years, and have been playing to a low handicap for most of that time. I’ve had so many chances over the years of getting my first with no luck. Well when it finally happened I didn’t even know how to react not only because it was my first but it was in a tournament.
My hole in one story really starts with 2021 being the craziest golf year of my life. I started off playing really the best I’ve ever played. Then everything switched and my game was just not there for months. I couldn’t get the ball in the hole to save my life. It got to a point where I was going to really give up golf for 6 months. I signed up for a Philadelphia PGA Section event with one of my clubs Assistant Pro’s. Even though my game wasn’t anywhere near where it should have been I committed and was playing no matter what. Plus if you know about the Philadelphia area we have arguably some of the best golf in the country. The tournament was at Saucon Valley which has held USGA events and to have it happen there made it even more special.
Well we come to the 4th hole that’s uphill and was playing into a breeze. I looked at my caddie who is another member at the club I play out of and we both instantly said 8 Iron. I hit the smooth 8 with a bit of a draw right into the middle of the green which is two tiered. Knowing it hit the front section which you couldn’t see from the tee. As we walked up my playing partners were already on the green. My caddie and I both looked at the green and my ball was nowhere to be found(little did I know he saw on of my playing partners signal as we walked up that my ball was in the cup) he played it off perfectly. I turned to him and said no way that ball bounced over and he agreed. I honestly thought maybe someone in my group marked my ball which I knew in the back of my mind would have never happened. That’s when I looked over and they just nodded their head towards the hole. Well I can’t type what I said but you can imagine what was said. The instant chill that came over me was like nothing I’ve ever felt. It’s been a long time coming and to have it happen with the Pro V1x which has been my ball for as long as I know, the location, and everyone that was there couldn’t have made it better
