While visiting friends in Venice, Florida we decided to play Misty Creek in Sarasota on 2/24/21. We started on the 10th tee so by the time we had reached hole #4 we were playing our 13th hole of the day. The green was 135 yards away and 2 tiered running uphill, front to back and the green also ran left to right. With a back hole position I teed up my Titleist Trusoft aiming at the middle of the green as I usually do on par 3s. Striking the ball with an 8 iron I slightly tugged the shot left. It landed on the front part of the green and rolled left, uphill and towards the collar. As the uphill took speed off the shot the ball turned right, climbing the second tier, As the 4 of us watched, the beautiful yellow #4 Trusoft made its way towards the flag. One of my friends starts yelling as the ball disappears into the hole! My reaction was the release of 22 years of anticipation and lost opportunities, like so many of my golfing brethren. I was fortunate to be playing with my compadres, Paul (Moose) Piagneri, Al and Tony Giurdanella. It was really an amazing experience and one that I hope to replicate many more times! God knows I'll be trying to revisit that glorified air again and I will be teeing up my trusty yellow Titleist!!!
