Both of my sons had a hole in one when they played in High School. My wife also had one a few years ago but I have only come close.

Last night in my 9 hole league, I was playing the No. 1 guy in my Flight...always a tough match.

We got to the 6th hole, a short 80 to 100 yard hole depending on tees and flag placement. My opponent and the other two members of my 4-some hit. I was up last hitting from the forward tees.

I measured the shot at 87 yards but did not hit my best shot. It didn't matter. The ball hit the flagstick and dropped in the hole. My opponent heard it and said "you are in the cup". Sure enough It was in for my 1st HIO in over 50 years of playing...so never give up hope.
