I have been golfing off and on for about 30 years. I've come close to a hole in one maybe once or twice. A I was stepping up to a par 3, 140 yds. at my club, Sierra View CC, I was whining the entire time about how the hole has a "force field" around the green that repels my ball. As I made contact with my Titleist PRO V1x the thought went through my head that it was actually going straight and I might get it on the green. As I bent over to retrieve my tee I realized it was actually going towards the flag. It landed about 5 feet shy of the green, took a hop and rolled up to the flag and gently fell in. Excessive screaming and jumping followed by myself and my friends!
