While not quite a hole-in-one I had a close cousin.....the "hole-in-three"!! Playing at Cedar Crest in Downtown Dallas last month in a Dallas Amateur qualifier I hit my tee shot into a greenside bunker. They had just redone the bunkers so the sand was very deep and inconsistent and we never found the ball even though all three of us saw it go in and saw sand splash up. Anyway after my three minutes I do the drive of shame and go back to the tee to re-hit. Apologize to those waiting on the tee and tell them what happened, guy goes "Just go Freddie and make this one!!" which is exactly what I did!! 6 iron from 195 yds, T100s with Titleist ProV1.
Everyone around me went crazy as well as my partners on the green as they watched it the whole way and said it never left the flag. Me?? Not so much, I just turned and said "Nice par!! At least I won't be buying drinks!!". Gotta love golf.....
