Playing on a hot summer day in August with my buds Brian (+1.5) and Alan (.5) from the challenging gold tees, we stepped up on the 14th tee. It measured 175 that day, over a large creek to a forward sloping green. The pin was in the back right position.
As the oldest in our group, I'm not as long as these two, but at least I have a chance on the par 3's. Alan went first and put his ball within 20 feet and then sat in the cart. I pulled out my 4 iron and took a rip at it. It was all over the pin, landed 5 yards in front of it and rolled directly in with some speed.
Alan watched it go in and went nuts. I wasn't 100% sure but he was. Of course, high fives and customary celebration drinks after!
