Hole 7 at my home club, The Country Club at Lake City. Stood on the tee box having made some pretty poor swings and catching the tee shot heavy the last 4 times I've played this hole. Just birdied hole 6, sitting at -2 though 6. I stood on the tee box and said to one of my playing partners, "This hole owes me" meaning that I've paid my dues coming up short so often lately that it's time for a good shot today. 144 yards. The green is highly elevated above the tee so playing more like 154 with a slight right to left helping wind. hit a very solid hold on 8-iron that had about 2 yards of right to left ball shape. You can't see the hole on this green due to the elevation change, but the flag was on the front and I could tell that the ball landed between the collar and the flag. I commented "Thats going to be pretty close". We were playing in a 5 ball. the other 4 guys all hit the green and we ascended towards the green to play our next shots. I was last to arrive to the green and my playing partner said. "Ummmm, there is only 4 balls up here but there is a pitch mark 3 feet under the hole. It's your hole in one I am not looking". Sure enough it was in the hole for my 2nd hole in one ever and 2nd hole in one on that same hole.
The icing on the cake was that I was able to turn in a scorecard that was a bogey free 65 with the hole in one. The bogey free round with a hole in one just made the scorecard that much nicer to look at.
