I'm a Pediatrician - and took up golf 7 years ago at the age of 67. That summer, largely to avoid embarrassment at a church Par 3 party, I took some lessons....and got hooked. My best friend asked me why I always do things backwards - "Doctors are supposed to play golf starting at the beginning of their careers, Ted".
This morning, I pulled my Pro V1 and an 8 iron out at the 121 yard Par 3 hole - and uncharacteristically, I didn't sky the thing. Instead, it went right for the pin, hit the green and spun backward 3 feet, gently nudging into the hole.
Dan said - it went in. "Nah, it's just behind the flagpole...."
He was right. What a great feeling! Lucky I had witnesses!
