I recently holed in one on the 11th hole at Durham City golf club in a Calcutta cup ( matchplay game). Using a 9 iron to the 128 Hole which my opponent had already hit an excellent shot to about 3ft from the hole I have played golf for about 48 years so was due a one in a competition …. Unfortunately for me it was not good enough to win a great game but the hole in one means a lot more to me than progressing .
