I’ve played golf for 16 years. I have been in competitive tournaments, winning a high school state championship and going on to play in college. During high school, I played about 200 rounds per year. I have played a LOT of golf in my life, but I never had a hole-in-one. Until now.
It was hole 13 at Gladstan Golf Course in Payson, Utah. The hole is moderately/severely downhill, but still was 223 yards from the back tees. I tried to hit a cut 6-iron to land it more softly on the green, but it didn’t really cut. I even thought I chunked it and might have left it short of the green, but there was no way I would see it land due to a big tree at the bottom of the hill in front of the green. As I leaned down to grab my tee, we heard a loud crash.
Once we got down there, we saw that it was not only a hole-in-one, but a slam dunk!
Needless to say, I was ecstatic. I finally got my first hole-in-one! Hopefully it will be the first of many.
