It was the last day of our annual golf trip with the same group of great guys. I was in a match play singles match and I was down 1 going into the Par 3 162 yard 4th hole on the Red Course of "The Loop" up in Roscommon, MI. An outstanding course part of the Forest Dunes Property in Northern / Mid-Michigan. This is a link style golf course and today the wind was howling with 20-25 mph gust. The 4th hole on the red course is a mere 162 yards but today it was dead into a stern 25 mph wind. All day I was going up 2 clubs. But this wind felt just a bit stronger and I decided to go up a third club and hit a 5-iron. None the less I purred the 5-iron and it didn't leave the flag. The ball tracked right at the flag and hit the green and rolled 2 feet and disappeared and the sense that it went in started to circulate within our foursome. It's always hard to tell until you get to the green. With great anticipation after the rest of the group hit the wait was over and the walk up to the green stayed true to what we thought on the tee box. My Titleist AVX WAS IN THE HOLE! My 1st hole in one.
