My biggest fears in life are getting a hole-in-one and nobody seeing it or getting a hole-in-one without a Titleist. Both of those fears were put to rest today! After birdieing 15, 16 and 17 to square the match, the 18th hole is 142 yard par three over water.
Grabbing both a nine iron and a pitching wedge, and 135 yards to the pin, I say to my playing partners “I’m going to hit a nine iron but if I make it I want the plaque to say pitching wedge“ Some eye rolls followed but my confidence never wavered. A pre-shot routine followed by a smooth three finger nine iron, a perfectly struck Titleist AVX guided directly at the pin. One hop and a slight spin to the left a little white ball disappeared into the cup!
Chaos ensued. The club, hat, sunglasses all went airborne, walk off ace to beat my buddies, I couldn’t script it any better. It’s my first one and I’ve been playing golf for 28 years, I hope everybody that loves golf gets to feel the way I do, it’s the best.
